7.5 Driver – Term Time (Preston)

We’re seeking a 7.5 Driver to join our Preston team, working term time giving you the flexibility to balance work with family or other commitments. 

You’ll be working on a term time basis, on a 5 day Mon-Fri shift pattern with start times between 04:00-06:00. This role will require flexibility on your working week as some days will be longer than others.

As a 7.5 Term Time Driver, you’ll receive:

Annual salary £22,430 (based on £27,000 FTE) plus up to £750 per year bonus

· Monday to Friday (early starts and afternoon finishes)

· Working 39 weeks per year

What you’ll do on a typical day:
• Work as a part of the team delivering products to customer premises on a multidrop basis – an average of 20 drops per day.
• Once you’ve completed your induction, you will have a multi-drop route of your own, being the
face of the Company and enabling you to build a strong rapport with customers.
• Professionally representing the company to customers.
• Complete vehicle pre-shift walk around checks
• Transport and deliver goods to an area within the North West
• Complete debrief on return to depot
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner
• Ensure vehicle is clean and tidy at all times
• Working within a physically demanding environment

What does “term time only” mean? 
You will only be required to be on shift for 40 weeks per year (school term time), for the other 12 weeks you will not be required to work, however you will be paid pro rata, meaning you still get paid weekly throughout the year, regardless of whether you are on shift or not. 

What were looking for:
– A full UK driving licence with HGV C1 Licence -new passes welcome.
– An up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph
– No more than 6 penalty points on your licence (no DD, DR, DG, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT endorsements)
• Previous experience in multidrop, deliveries preferable but not essential.
• A positive, proactive attitude – it’s a physical job that keeps you on the go
· A flexible and positive attitude to the job.
· A polite and friendly manner while at delivery and collection destinations.
· Always be punctual and reliable to start shifts.
· A strong desire to learn and succeed is also essential as we only envisage expansion in this sector
· Willingness to undertake pre-employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check)
